Tuscarora Wayne Mutual Foundation Feeds the Hungry

Wyalusing, Pennsylvania, April 10, 2020-With the Coronavirus Pandemic shaking families to their core, physically, emotionally and economically – the need to combat food insecurity is more critical than ever.

The Tuscarora Wayne Mutual Foundation recognizes the urgency and has taken a position on the front lines by fast-tracking financial support to Food Banks throughout our region. “Meeting real needs in the communities we serve has been our mission since the inception of our Foundation,” states Shelby Napoli, President and Chief Executive Officer.

Born from the Tuscarora Wayne Group of Companies, whose roots date back to 1874, the Tuscarora Wayne Mutual Foundation stands on the shoulders of those early pioneering founders who came together to protect and serve their neighbors. Their legacy lives on.

“No kid should ever face an empty fridge,” states Jay W. Chadwick, Chairman of the Board. “We invite everyone to join us in this unprecedented time of need by making a contribution today at your local volunteer food bank.”

The Tuscarora Wayne Mutual Foundation is a registered 501(c) (3). The Lebanon Mutual Insurance Company, who joined our group of companies in 2010, is credited with forming the Foundation in 1983.

Lebanon Valley’s own Amy Devlin joins agency partner Walker & Associates in donation to the Make A Wish Foundation of Pittsburgh.  Joining from the agency, was Robert Houge, V.P. and Darlene Cipcic, bookkeeper.  Also joining for the presentation, was Darlene’s daughter Jenny and her two children, Kayla and Daniel, who were Make A Wish Recipients in 2013.  We are thrilled to be able to share in the support of such a worthy cause. 

St. Augustine’s Catholic Church to receive donation from the Tuscarora Wayne Mutual Foundation

Community Insurance Group chose St. Augustine’s Catholic Church to receive a $1,000 donation from the Tuscarora Wayne Mutual Foundation, with the money earmarked for its PX Games. PX Games is a faith based summer retreat for 100+ high school youth in the area. It includes inspirational speakers from around Ohio. The ‘games’ part of the day is staffed by over 50 volunteers.

Shelby Napoli Appointed President And Chief Executive Officer Of Tuscarora Wayne Mutual Foundation

(Wyalusing, PA – March 21, 2019) – The Tuscarora Wayne Mutual Foundation Board of Directors is pleased to announce the appointment of Shelby Napoli to the position of President and Chief Executive Officer.

Tuscarora Wayne Mutual Foundation, formerly known as Lebanon Valley Mutual Insurance Company Foundation, was founded in 1983. The foundation is a registered 501(c)(3) and became a formal entity of Tuscarora Wayne Mutual Group, Inc. in 2011.

Tuscarora Wayne Group of Companies built its reputation on successfully serving the underserved in the insurance industry. The company also takes pride in supporting worthwhile philanthropic initiatives within its footprint. The Tuscarora Wayne Mutual Foundation allows the company to carry on that legacy and make a significant impact in communities across the commonwealth and beyond.

In Pennsylvania alone, 1 in 8 people are at risk for hunger. For children, the need is even greater at 1 in 6. With those facts in mind, Ms. Napoli and the board of directors have developed a strategic vision for the foundation that includes supporting projects centered around providing healthy food to children and families in need.

The foundation board of directors is comprised of community members who consistently prove their deep commitment to giving back. They include Scott T. Burgess, Jay W. Chadwick, Robert J. Griffin, R. Joseph Landy, Steven W. Moore, Shelby W. Napoli, Andrew S. Ripic, III, Anthony J. Ventello, and Randy B. Williams.

Ms. Napoli began her career at Tuscarora Wayne Mutual Group, Inc. as an insurance underwriter. Through her various roles, she has consistently advanced through the organization and demonstrated her strong leadership abilities.
